Barney's ideal home

Barney is an adorable, smiley, 7 year old Cocker Spaniel looking for a home that is as fun-loving as he is! Barney is an excitable boy, and loves to jump up to say hello. He is super friendly, but lacks some manners! It would be preferable that Barney's adopters are experienced with Spaniel breeds, and that any children in the home are slightly older (12+),and used to energetic dogs. Barney is a sociable dog, and will be able to live with another suitable dog after successful meets at the Centre. He would also love to have doggy friends to go on walkies with! Barney will need plenty of exercise through play, walkies and enrichment, so someone with the time for this would be amazing. To allow lots of play time (and toileting!),Barney's new home should have a secure outdoor space.

Barney is a typical spaniel with so much love to give his perfect match. Once he gets to know you, he loves nothing more than coming for cuddles on your lap! Barney hasn't been used to spending time alone in the home, so his adopters will need to be able to help him settle in and then gradually increase alone time. Cocker Spaniel Buying Checklist

We highly recommend every buyer reads through the below advice when purchasing or rehoming a Cocker Spaniel.

View the animal in the place it was born and raised - check for genuine home environments if buying privately, or the quality of the breeders set-up if applicable.
If viewing a puppy under 6 months, by law they MUST be seen with their mum.
Make sure the animal's old enough to be rehomed. 8 weeks should be the earliest a puppy can be rehomed.
By law, all dogs MUST be microchipped

Avoid Potential Scams

There are a number of red flags to look out for when purchasing a new puppy:

Seller demands a deposit without allowing you to see the dog first - never send any money before meeting the animal in person
Seller is reluctant to send you additional photos or videos
Seller offers to deliver the dog/puppy
Seller asks to meet in a mutual location
Seller uses fake or stolen photos from the internet. Always carry out a "Google image search".
