Description

Digby's ideal home

We are looking for an active home for Digby with adopters who can keep him mentally and physically stimulated throughout the day. He is always on the go so a home that can keep up with him is essential, there is small amounts of the day where he rests! He is a typical spaniel out and about, nose to the ground exploring but he is incredibly strong on lead so will need confident handlers. Adopters willing to keep him on lead would be ideal as he lacks in road sense. Digby could live with another dog, however they would need to be a young and active dog that can match his energy. Any resident dogs would need to be vaccinated and neutered. Digby could live with children aged 14+ who are dog-savvy and confident. Digby can become overwhelmed and hump sometimes so this will need on-going management in the home. He does like to be cheeky and steal things around the house, so we are teaching him a swap as he does not like to give items up. This is something adopters will need to continue working on, following our advice. He needs a home with a secure, private garden and he cannot live with cats or small furries. Digby's ideal home would be one that has minimal leaving, as he adores company and does struggle when left, although this can slowly be built up over time in his new home

Could you be Digby's perfect match?

Digby is a 10-month-old Cocker Spaniel who is full of beans! Digby is into everything and loves to be involved in whatever his foster carer is doing. He has a lively, playful nature with a splash of mischief and cheekiness! Digby is still a young lad with lots of learning to do so is looking for a home that can continue his training, particularly around impulse control and stealing things! Digby would love to do things like agility and man-trailing.

Cocker Spaniel Buying Checklist

We highly recommend every buyer reads through the below advice when purchasing or rehoming a Cocker Spaniel.

  • View the animal in the place it was born and raised - check for genuine home environments if buying privately, or the quality of the breeders set-up if applicable.
  • If viewing a puppy under 6 months, by law they MUST be seen with their mum.
  • Make sure the animal's old enough to be rehomed. 8 weeks should be the earliest a puppy can be rehomed.
  • By law, all dogs MUST be microchipped

Avoid Potential Scams

There are a number of red flags to look out for when purchasing a new puppy:

  • Seller demands a deposit without allowing you to see the dog first - never send any money before meeting the animal in person
  • Seller is reluctant to send you additional photos or videos
  • Seller offers to deliver the dog/puppy
  • Seller asks to meet in a mutual location
  • Seller uses fake or stolen photos from the internet. Always carry out a "Google image search".

Although we have a number of automated systems in place to prevent scam and fraudulant adverts, these can never be 100% accurate and its important to use caution when buying online. We do not accept any responsibility for transactions between our users, especially when our safe buying advice is not followed.
