Huey's ideal home

Meet Huey, a friendly three-year-old Cocker Spaniel with a sensitive side. Huey enjoys all the fun parts of dog life, such as exploring on walks where there’s lots to sniff, meeting up with other likeminded canine pals, and playing with his toys! Active adopters, who could fill Huey’s life with lots of fun and adventure would be ideal for him. However, while he has a zest for life, Huey seems to lack in confidence when faced with all that is unfamiliar to him and tends to get overwhelmed when there’s a lot of different stimuli. For example, he can be wary around traffic, visiting the vets, or when there are thunderstorms or fireworks. As such, Huey would love to find a calm and relaxing household, living with older children of secondary-school age, who could be sensible around him and understanding of his body language. He’ll also need a home that is situated away from busy roads, and where there is a garden of his own to run about in. Huey has mixed well with other dogs here at the centre and will happily walk with them after politely greeting. Huey could possibly share his home with another dog who matches his gentle and quiet temperament, but he is unable to live with cats or other animals.

This adorable chap will make for a fabulous companion to a family who have plenty of time for him. He enjoys the company of his people pals and is happy to make new friends, often bringing them one of his favourite toys to play and show off with! Other than people and playtime, Huey’s most-loved pastimes include going for walks, tucking into tasty sausages, and solving food-based enrichment puzzles.
