Merlin's ideal home

Looking to do some brilliant training with a young dog who’s FULL of potential? Then Merlin is your boy! He’s a 4-month-old Malinois Crossbreed who has had really tough start to his life. This has left him worried by nearly everything, but he does get a lot of confidence when he’s with a good doggy role model. He will need to share his home with a well-trained doggy friend but no sadly not young children. Calm teenagers should be fine however. A secure garden is vital as he’ll need to learn to walk on lead and it will also help his housetraining. His home must be within a 1hr drive of the Leeds rehoming centre as he’ll require plenty of visits before he’ll be ready to fly the nest.

Could you be Merlin's perfect match?

Merlin has been spending some time in a foster home where he’s learned a lot from his foster sister Holly. We’ve seen a big improvement in his confidence, and we now know he’ll be great to train as this continues to grow. He’s starting to play with toys and he’s very foody which will make his training much easier. In the right home with adopters who will work with us to slowly prepare him for the big wide world he will really thrive.

Cocker Spaniel Buying Checklist

We highly recommend every buyer reads through the below advice when purchasing or rehoming a Cocker Spaniel.

  • View the animal in the place it was born and raised - check for genuine home environments if buying privately, or the quality of the breeders set-up if applicable.
  • If viewing a puppy under 6 months, by law they MUST be seen with their mum.
  • Make sure the animal's old enough to be rehomed. 8 weeks should be the earliest a puppy can be rehomed.
  • By law, all dogs MUST be microchipped

Avoid Potential Scams

There are a number of red flags to look out for when purchasing a new puppy:

  • Seller demands a deposit without allowing you to see the dog first - never send any money before meeting the animal in person
  • Seller is reluctant to send you additional photos or videos
  • Seller offers to deliver the dog/puppy
  • Seller asks to meet in a mutual location
  • Seller uses fake or stolen photos from the internet. Always carry out a "Google image search".

Although we have a number of automated systems in place to prevent scam and fraudulant adverts, these can never be 100% accurate and its important to use caution when buying online. We do not accept any responsibility for transactions between our users, especially when our safe buying advice is not followed.
